Progress on lowering the hill just west of Riverside Drive is in full swing and work there is expected continue for the next two weeks.  Construction is also occurring on the retaining wall on the southwest side of the Johnsburg Road and Spring Grove Road intersection.  Excavation and construction of the second retaining wall at Riverside Drive is anticipated to begin next week.  AT&T’s subcontractor, Electric Conduit Construction, will be installing phone and fiber optic lines under the roadway on the south side of Johnsburg Road between Spring Grove Road and Chapel Hill

By next week, installation of the storm sewer for the south side of the downtown area will be completed.  Construction will then shift west to the intersection at Johnsburg Road and Riverside Drive as PirTano installs new storm sewers for the intersection.  Roadway construction and “dirt work” will also continue west of Riverside Drive.  Drivers and residents can expect to see flaggers and short delays as trucks and construction equipment move in and out of the work zone.

05/31/2013 Johnsburg Road Construction Update

This week the Contractor has installed the first sections of storm sewer for the project just to the west of the Spring Grove Road intersection, as well as excavating the hillside west of Riverside drive.  In the coming week, work will continue as we install storm sewer east of Spring Grove Road and continue to work on the roadway west of the Riverside Drive.  Drivers can expect to be periodically delayed by construction as pipe and stone are delivered to the site.

05/08/2013 Johnsburg Road Construction Update

On May 14, 2013 the Johnsburg Road eastbound detour will go into effect weather permitting.  Beginning Tuesday morning, ONLY westbound traffic will be allowed to travel along Johnsburg Road from Chapel Hill Road to Route 31.  All eastbound traffic will be re-routed through the posted detour route via Route 31 – Route 120 – Chapel Hill Road.  Throughout the entire project the public will be able to travel westbound along Johnsburg Road.
